FRIDAY NIGHT IS CEILIDH NIGHT

The week-end of live music kicks off with a lively Ceilidh on the Friday evening to get the blood moving amidst the magical setting of Kirklinton Hall  - followed afterwards by a headline set in the marquee, to be announced in due course.

THREE STAGES - MUSIC TO SATISFY ALL TASTES

There will be  three big music concerts in the marquee stage running over the week-end, each  featuring a set  by at least one of our headline bands: Oysterband, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, BOC Mallorca and the Carnival Band.  The hall stage, housed in the ruins of Kirklinton Hall, will host a  wall-to-wall programme of music throughout both afternoons and  through Saturday evening into the wee hours of Sunday morning. The third bandstand stage will again be positioned in the middle of the craft village, featuring a combination of the best local bands and open mic performances.

ALL AGES - COME AND JOIN IN

All the Fun of the Fair

This year  we are inviting you to join in with all the fun of a fairground with rides from Jimmy Slater’s family funfair and plenty of traditional fairground stalls - fun for everyone - 9 months to 90! ( When did you last win a coconut, hook a duck or eat candy floss?) Then there are arts and crafts, music and dance plus buskers, storytellers, instrument, dance and song workshops, master-classes and open mic sessions and the wonderful grounds to explore- fancy stream dipping or scratching a pig?

The week-end will have something to suit all tastes and ages and remember that CHILDREN UNDER 16 ARE FREE when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.   There is plenty of space at Kirklinton to chill out well away from any noise down by the river on the Captain’s seat and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet to recharge the batteries. We want to give everyone a full-on traditional festival experience and provide some great memories to take home with you, whatever your age and energy levels!
