Your questions answered….

Are dogs allowed on the festival site?

Only registered assistance dogs will be allowed into the festival site.  There are a number of good kennels available locally and details can be provided on request.  Site passes for all assistance dogs will be required.  Please contact the event organisers, Tim and Tricia Coombe at Damhead, Roweltown, Carlisle CA6 6LQ.  016977 48833 or info@steppingstonesfestival.co.uk

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Kirklinton Hall lies approximately 4 miles northeast of Carlisle but there are no public transport links to the site itself.  There are always taxis available at Carlisle station.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Any attendee under 16 must be accompanied by a ticket paying adult.

Can we have open fires?

No open fires or Chinese lanterns are permitted on the campsite but there will be braziers burning on the Festival site during the evenings for you to enjoy.

Can we get cash on site?

Nearest cash machine is at the Spa in Longtown or Brampton

Where is the nearest fuel?

Nearest petrol stations are at ASDA (off the M6 at junction 44 ) or TESCO (off the M6 at junction 43)

What time do campers have to leave on Sunday?

The campsite must be clear by 6pm on Sunday evening

Can I park where I camp?

Yes, but tents must be positioned as close to vehicles as possible

Are caravans and camper vans permitted?

Yes but there are no electrical hook-ups or dump-stations on site

Is there full disabled access?

Most of the site is either firm grass or loose gravel around the buildings. Access to the bottom lawn to the activity area is via 2 sets of stone steps.  The marquee with the main stage is about 75m from the Hall over fairly rough grass.  Stewards will always be on hand to help anyone needing assistance.  Please ask at the festival office before embarking on a perilous journey by yourself!

Are there any showers on site?

No, the camping facilities are basic which is why there is only a nominal charge for camping in the field.

Are there proper loos on site?

Yes, there will be fully plumbed in loos with basins at the back of the Hall, plus a disabled loo in the stable block.  Campers may use these at any time.  There will also be at least 1 portaloo in the campsite area.

What additional clothing or equipment should we bring?

You should assume that there will be some rain during the festival and that it will be quite cool in the evenings.  Pessimists may choose to come well armed with wellington boots, wet weather gear, gloves, hats and torches for emergencies.  Hopefully you won’t need any of them!

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Tim and Tricia Coombe at Damhead, Roweltown, Carlisle CA6 6LQ.  016977 48833 or info@steppingstonesfestival.co.uk
